Hello friends! Boys, girls, cats and dogs welcome to my blog about all things gamification!

Buckle up, we are going to have a blast J

For my first person, I thought… surely, I can talk about something other than the current coronavirus crisis that is happening around us all day, every day. So here I am. Let’s talk isolation. More specifically how gamification is helping me get through these long boring days of what feels like constant snacking and Netflix bingeing (am I right?).

Staying Connected with Loved Ones

May we please take a moment to appreciation the such greatness of social media. Imagine our world today, our isolated world, without social media! I reckon I would go bonkers! It is obvious during this time that we cannot socialise, party, cuddle our very own loved ones – but that’s not to say we have to stop contact with them altogether. I’ve been using FaceTime to connect with my grandparents, Zoom to have group calls with all my friends and of course the usual Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat to talk to people and see how everyone else are keeping themselves entertained.

Health

Okay so I have a theory that I am going to come out of this whole isolation thing either really fit and healthy or as a big fat slug. If I keep up the snacking then the slug is ahead of that race. However I have been using a range of apps to keep myself occupied and most definitely motivated. I follow a fitness program called Keep It Cleaner and everyday it has a new workout for you to complete and a range of healthy meal ideas to cook. I love the idea of physically ticking off the workout on the app and watching my ring slowly close. It then shows how many workouts I complete each month! I have also been quite sick at the moment (no I don’t have corona!) so I have been using the Plant Nanny app to constantly remind me to keep my fluids up and grow my little plant!

Anyway, these are just a few ways gamification is keeping me going through isolation! I would love to know if you have any examples yourself!
